Taught Money Basics
Taught a younger kid or peer a real financial skill, budgeting, saving, compound interest, reading a paycheck, in a structured session they can demonstrate learning from.
The idea
Teaching a younger kid or peer is the test of whether your kid actually understands. Pick one concept they think they know cold. Have them prepare a short lesson with examples. Watch what they leave out, fumble, or simplify in the wrong place. The gaps in their explanation are gaps in their own understanding, and now they know exactly what to go back and shore up.
Steps
- Pick one concept. Be specific.
- Prepare a short lesson with examples.
- Teach a younger kid or peer in a structured session.
- Have them demonstrate what they learned.
What counts
A lesson taught to a younger kid or peer who can demonstrate the skill. A short writeup or photo is plenty.
