Read the Price Tag

Compared the same item at three different stores or websites, bought the best value, and can explain why that price won.

The idea

Same item, three stores, every price written down. The cheap one isn't always best. Sometimes shipping kills it. Sometimes the return policy makes the slightly higher price worth $30 in peace of mind. Have your kid explain why their pick wins, not just which is lowest. That distinction between cheap and good value is the foundation of how they shop for the next sixty years.

Steps
  1. Pick one item your kid actually wants.
  2. Check three sources. Document each price.
  3. Factor in shipping, tax, return policy.
  4. Buy from the winner. Explain why that one won.
What counts

Three documented prices, purchase at the best-value option, with reasoning. The comparison is plenty.
