Read the Fine Print
Read an actual financial agreement end-to-end, account terms, credit card agreement, insurance policy, loan terms, and can explain 3 things in it that most people don't realize.
The idea
Fine print is where companies hide what they don't want you to know. Pick one document with your kid: an account agreement, a credit card terms sheet, a subscription policy. Read every line. The three "huh, that's interesting" findings are the milestone. Most adults have never done this for anything they've signed. The kid who does it once knows to do it forever.
Steps
- Pick one real document: terms, policy, agreement.
- Read every line out loud. Slowly.
- Mark three things most people don't realize.
- Explain those three to an adult.
What counts
Three documented findings from a financial agreement, explainable to an adult. The annotated doc is plenty.
