Know What You Spend

Tracked every dollar you spent for 30 consecutive days and can show where the money went, by category.

The idea

Tracking isn't budgeting yet. It's seeing. The kid writes every purchase for a month, no editing, no judging. The categories that surprise them, snacks, gaming skins, in-app purchases, drinks, are the lesson. You can't change what you don't see. Most adults skip this step and wonder where the money went all year. Tracking once exposes the pattern that explains all of it.

Steps
  1. Pick one tracking tool: app, notebook, sheet.
  2. Log every purchase on the day. Memory fails by week two.
  3. Categorize as you go.
  4. Review at day 30. The surprise category is the lesson.
