Got Paid for Work
Earned real money for real work you did for someone outside your family, chore, errand, task, job, and kept the record of it.
The idea
The first paycheck has to be for something your kid wouldn't have done for free. Mowing a neighbor's lawn beats getting paid to clean their own room. The point is the trade with a stranger: I did work, you paid me, I have a receipt. That trade pattern is the milestone. Allowance teaches a different thing entirely, and it isn't this thing.
Steps
- Find work outside the family.
- Agree the rate before starting.
- Do the work. Don't cut corners.
- Get paid. Keep a record.
What counts
Real money from someone outside the family for real work, with a record. A note or photo of the cash is plenty.
