Bought Your First Stock

Bought your first share of stock, ETF, or index fund in a real brokerage account (custodial for minors), held it for at least 90 days.

The idea

Pick a company your kid actually uses. The point isn't returns. It's holding ownership in a real business for ninety days and watching what moves the price. Earnings, news, sector moves. Watching the price react to events the kid recognizes is how investing becomes real instead of a slot machine. The first stock teaches more by being held than by being right.

Steps
  1. Pick a real company your kid knows. Open a custodial brokerage.
  2. Read the company's latest earnings report. Skim is fine.
  3. Buy one share. Hold 90+ days.
  4. Track what news moved the price.
What counts

One share or fund held 90+ days with notes on price movement. The brokerage screenshot plus notes are plenty.
