First Sale

Sold something you made, grew, or sourced to a real customer who paid you real money, and kept the receipt.

The idea

The first sale never happens until someone asks for it out loud. Your kid will stand near their product and hope. Don't let them hope. Have them practice the sentence "would you like to buy one" five times before opening. The dollar is the receipt. The sentence is the milestone. Most adults still can't say it without flinching.

Steps
  1. Practice "would you like to buy one" five times out loud before opening.
  2. Have the kid stand in front of the product, not behind it. Buyer sees the kid first.
  3. When someone hesitates, the kid stays quiet. Most sales happen in the silence after the ask.
  4. Keep the receipt. The first dollar means more with proof.
What counts

Your kid asked a stranger to buy something, got the money, and has the receipt. A photo of the first dollar is plenty.
