Open Mic Regular

Performed at the same venue or open event at least 5 separate times, developing material across performances.

The idea

Five sets is about reading the room from the stage. The first time they perform what they wrote. By the fifth they're adjusting in real time based on what landed last week. Have your kid keep a one-line note after every set: what worked, what died. That note compounding across five performances is the milestone. The fifth set sounds different because the kid is finally listening.

Steps
  1. Pick one venue. Don't bounce around.
  2. Perform 5+ times. One-line note after each: what worked, what died.
  3. Try new material at least once.
  4. Talk to the host and the regulars. Open mic culture rewards showing up.
What counts

Five performances at the same venue with notes showing adjustment. The set list and notes are plenty.
