Made Something Original

Made a piece of creative work that came entirely from your own idea, song, drawing, poem, short film, story, sculpture, and shared it with at least one person.

The idea

Originality starts with showing the work, not refining it. The kid who finishes one bad piece and gives it to someone learns more than the kid who makes ten beautiful unfinished pieces nobody sees. The work isn't done until another person has seen it. Most adult creatives still struggle with this. Their best stuff is in a drawer. Don't let that be your kid.

Steps
  1. Make the piece in one sitting if possible. Don't pause for inspiration.
  2. Don't show family first. They'll be kind. You want a real reaction.
  3. Show it to one person outside the family. Watch their face.
  4. Make a second piece within a week. Two starts to be a habit.
What counts

One finished original piece seen by someone outside the family. A photo or recording is plenty.
