Made for Someone

Made an original piece designed for a specific person, a poem, a portrait, a song, a card, a handmade gift, that was designed around what they care about and given to them in person.

The idea

The piece has to fit the person. Generic gifts feel hollow no matter how much went into them. Have your kid list five specific things about the recipient first: the inside joke, the color they always wear, the song they hum, the way they tell stories. Then make. Specificity is the whole gift. The person will see themselves in it, which is what they're actually receiving.

Steps
  1. List five specific things about the person: jokes, songs, habits, ways of speaking.
  2. Pick the most specific item. That's the seed.
  3. Make the piece around that seed.
  4. Give it in person. Watch them receive it.
What counts

A finished original piece designed for one specific person, delivered in person. A photo of the moment is plenty.
