Gave a Talk
Gave a prepared talk of at least 1 minute to an audience of 20+ people, on a topic you chose and researched yourself.
The idea
The talk gets better the moment your kid stops reading. Notes are fine. Reading is not. Have them practice until they can deliver from a single index card with three bullets. The eye contact with the room is what makes it a talk instead of a recitation. The audience can feel the difference instantly. They tune out reading and lean in for speaking. Same words, completely different effect.
Steps
- Write three bullet points on one index card.
- Practice until you don't need to read.
- Deliver to 20+ people, eyes up.
- Take one question and answer specifically.
What counts
A 1+ minute talk to 20+ people, no reading. A photo or clip is plenty.
