Measured Twice

Completed a project requiring precision, within a defined tolerance, and demonstrated the measurements match the spec.

The idea

Measure twice means measure from a different reference. If you use the same tape, the same edge, the same angle, you're not measuring twice. You're confirming your first mistake. Use a different tool. A different starting point. A different unit if you can. That's where the second measurement actually saves you. Most carpenters who say "measure twice" don't do this and still mess up.

Steps
  1. Pick a project with a defined tolerance. Furniture, frame, fit.
  2. Measure each cut from two different references: different tape, different edge.
  3. Cut slow. Sand to the line if you're slightly off.
  4. Verify the final piece meets the spec.
What counts

A finished project where measurements demonstrably match the spec. A photo with measurements visible is plenty.
