Ran a 5K

Completed a timed 5K race, beat your own practice time, and recorded both.

The idea

Race-day strategy: start slower than feels right. Most kids blow up in mile one because the energy of the start carries them past their pace. Save something for the last half-mile. Have your kid pre-decide their pace and finishing kick before the gun. Beating their own time the second race is where the lesson lives. The first race is just data on their real pace.

Steps
  1. Train at target pace for three weeks before race day.
  2. Race day: start slower than feels right.
  3. Save energy for the last half-mile.
  4. Race a second 5K within a few weeks. Beat your time.
What counts

Two timed 5K races with the second time faster. Both bib photos or screenshots are plenty.
